Rotary Urban Miners is a not-for-profit community enterprise established by Rotary Cambridge. Its mission is to collect e waste and divert it from landfills through either the reuse, repair, or dismantling of products for complete recycling. E waste is one of the most significant waste streams in New Zealand and we landfill nearly 100,000 tonnes of it each year. Urban Miners has been operating public collections of e waste in Cambridge and Te Awamutu for three years and we have developed an extraordinary group of community volunteers to operate our business. In that time, we have diverted 50 tonnes (the weight of a Boeing 737 aircraft) of e waste from landfill and we are now ready to also start dealing with e waste from local businesses. We can give you a price for disposing of your e waste securely, ethically and in an environmentally responsible manner, and then collect and remove it for processing here in Cambridge.
