Congratulations Chris!
April marked an incredible milestone, 15 years of Chris Stevenson as our amazing Business Manager here at Accounted4!
Chris has played a huge role in shaping the Accounted4 you see today. From streamlining our internal systems to championing key projects and operational improvements, her impact reaches across every part of the business. She’s been a driving force behind innovation and efficiency, often working quietly behind the scenes, but always with our people and clients front of mind.
Her calm, considered leadership and decision making have helped us navigate change, grow sustainably, and stay true to our values along the way.
Beyond her many skills, we’re especially grateful for the heart she brings to her work. Her loyalty, professionalism, and ability to keep everything ticking make her an irreplaceable part of the A4 family.
Thank you, Chris, for your dedication over the past 15 years, we’re so lucky to have you in our corner. Here’s to many more milestones to come!
Welcome Tracey
We're delighted to introduce the newest member of our team, Tracey Gray!
Tracey joined Accounted4 in May 2025 as a Client Manager and brings over 20 years of experience in the accounting industry. She holds a New Zealand Diploma in Accounting and is currently working towards her Chartered Accountant qualification .
Raised on a dairy farm in Northland, Tracey began her accounting career in the agricultural sector. She later spent eight years farming in the Wairarapa and Waikato regions before returning to the accounting profession. Her diverse background provides her with a unique perspective, especially valuable to our farming and rural clients .
Outside of work, Tracey enjoys flower gardening on her lifestyle block with her husband, Brendan. She also cherishes spending time with family and friends, particularly her granddaughter, who loves visiting and helping feed the chickens .
We're excited to have Tracey on board and look forward to the expertise and enthusiasm she brings to our team.
Welcome aboard, Tracey!
Welcome back Elayne & Renee
We’re excited to share that two familiar faces are back in the office, Renee and Elayne have officially returned from maternity leave!
Renee, one of our Client Managers, is now back in action, balancing spreadsheets and parenthood like a pro. She’s rejoined the team part-time for now, and we’re stoked to have her energy and expertise back in the office.
Elayne has also returned to her role as Client Manager after taking some precious time off with her little one. She's easing back in part-time as well, and we know many of her clients will be glad to see her name pop up in their inbox again, we know we are!
Steff's Holiday
Recently Steff, along with her sister and her best friend, embarked on a trip of a lifetime together – 5 ½ weeks. Here is Steff's recap.
All in all we travelled to 8 countries – Singapore, Denmark, Norway, Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland & Italy; took 10 flights, drove around Scotland and Ireland in rental cars, hopped on a few buses, travelled on 6 trains (including the UNESCO Bernina Express through the Swiss Alps to Italy); Stayed in 2 castles and multiple air bnbs.
Saw heaps of wild life both in parks and running or flying free. A particularly amazing highlight was doing Falconry @ Dalhousie Castle in Scotland, where amongst many owls, perigrens and hawks, I held a 12 ½ pound eagle on my arm. We climbed hills & tracks, walked famous Roads ( Royal Mile in Edinburgh and Champs Elyesees in Paris), dragged ourselves up numerous steps and stairs ( Arc de Triomphe in Paris (284), Wallace Monument in Scotland (246), climbed aboard 3 cable cars, 2 gondolas, 1 funicular railway and a car ferry (yes I did the iconic Titanic pose – cringe).
We had dinner 57 floors up in Marina Bay Sands Singapore, and in a dungeon in a Scottish Castle. We bought crab legs in Norway, sampled various “drinks” along the way indigenous to the region (responsibly of course!), tried every cuisine we could, and even found a “GLUTEN FREE PATISERRIE” in Paris (may have ordered up large there …)
We explored by day and by night (especially Paris with the Eiffel Tower lit up, and watching the sunset on a cruise down the Rhine .. Yes, Titanic AGAIN) We stood on the oldest bridge in Scotland, went to Museums, castles, churches, lighthouses, cathedrals, more castles and palaces, drove the length of Lochness (didn’t spot Nessie), more castles both in ruins and restored.
We passed by or drove over, under, through & on bridges, viaducts (yes even Glenfinnan – Harry Potter) and multiple tunnels. We saw monuments, structures, statues, cliffs, rivers and streams, mountains, heather covered hills, towers and historically important rocks or trees or pathways (The Hedges in Ireland of Game of Thrones fame), Giants Causeway and Rosslyn Chapel (made famous by The Davinci Code) We travelled with four suitcases which equals 12 wheels, we returned with 8 which called for some creative luggage handling along the way.
Congratulations Samara!
Congratulations to Samara for recently graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Management on 6 May!
This achievement marks years of dedication and hard work, balancing study alongside her role here at Accounted4. We're proud to celebrate this milestone with her and look forward to seeing how she continues to grow and apply her skills in the world of business.
Well done, Samara, such a great achievement!
Shelley is back in the office
After five years of working remotely from Auckland, we’re excited to have Shelley back in the Accounted4 office! As our Trust and Company Administrator, she’s stayed closely connected, particularly with local law firms through regular collaboration, but nothing quite beats in person catch-ups with clients and colleagues.
Shelley and her family originally left Cambridge in 2020, when her kids were just 4 and 6. Fast forward to now, and with a 10 and 12 year old in tow, it’s been a full circle moment moving back. They’re enjoying reconnecting with familiar faces, and exploring how much the town has evolved.
Cambridge has changed a lot, but Shelley’s thrilled to be “home” again. We’re stoked to have her energy and expertise back in the building.
Social Club Outing
Our Social Club really turned on the charm for this one! On a sunny Sunday, the A4 crew and their families headed out for a day packed with fresh air, food, and fun, perfect combo.
First stop: the Sculpture Park at Waitakaruru Arboretum. With its sprawling 2km art-in-nature trail, it was the perfect spot to stretch our legs and let the kids lead the way (which they did, with boundless energy).
After working up an appetite, we made our way to Bootleg Brewery, for wood fired pizza and chill Sunday vibes. The outdoor setup was great for families, with live music setting the tone and picnic tables buzzing with chatter and laughter.
And the kids? They scored front row seats for the live singer, who had them absolutely captivated. It was awesome to see them enjoying it just as much as the adults!
Big thanks to the Social Club for pulling together another stellar outing. Great company, good food, and a solid dose of sunshine, great way to end the week!
