Founded in 2005 by Will and Clare Thorne, Greenroofs Ltd is all about bringing nature back into our built environments. We design and install living roofs—green spaces planted over waterproofed roof structures—that not only look great but also help with insulation, biodiversity, stormwater management, and overall building performance.
Based just outside Cambridge has turned out to be the perfect spot to grow our nursery and base our operations. Alongside green roofs, we also provide smart irrigation solutions to help keep both rooftop and ground-level gardens thriving year-round.
There’s growing interest in green infrastructure across New Zealand, and we think green roofs are about to take off—especially with councils and developers looking for more sustainable building solutions. To meet demand, we’ve partnered with Sempergreen, one of the global leaders in green roofing, to produce their innovative Click 'n Go pre-grown sedum trays right here at our Tamahere nursery.
