There’s been plenty happening in our wider community lately, and we’ve been fortunate to get involved in a few different ways.
From supporting the Cancer Society through Daffodil Day and keeping e-waste out of landfill, to welcoming Paralympian Danielle Aitchison into the office to share her inspiring story, it’s been a great reminder of the many ways we can contribute, connect and learn from those around us.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to.
Danielle Aitchison Para Athlete Presentation
In August, our team was privileged to welcome Danielle Aitchison, New Zealand Paralympian and Para sprinter, who shared her inspiring life journey and the experiences that have shaped her successful sporting career.
Danielle was an engaging and authentic presenter, leaving our team inspired by her resilience, courage, and determination. She spoke openly about the challenges she has faced and the mindset that has helped her achieve success on the world stage.
A highlight of the visit was seeing some of Danielle's medals, including her Paralympic medals from Paris 2024, which gave us a unique insight into her remarkable achievements.
Danielle, thank you for sharing your story with us. Your passion, perseverance, and positive attitude were truly inspiring, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from your experiences.
Doing our bit to reduce landfill
Over the past few years, we have utilised the brilliant services of Urban Miners to send our e-waste to recycling rather than landfill.
In July we replaced a few of our team’s computer monitors and two of the friendly Urban Miners team called by with their truck to pick up the old ones – too easy!
The cost is very minimal compared to the cost of adding to landfill (and dump fees!).
We always invite and encourage our team to bring in any e-waste they had lying around their homes, which is pretty much anything with a plug, cord or battery that has come to the end of is useful life.

Supporting Daffodil Day
Many members of our team have had family members and friends affected by cancer, making it especially important for us to support the Cancer Society and the valuable work they do in our communities.
This year, our Social Club organised a delicious morning tea and transformed our tearoom with bright yellow decorations in support of Daffodil Day.
Thanks to the generosity of our team, we raised $300 in donations from the event. We are proud to contribute to the Cancer Society's efforts to provide support, advocacy, and research for those affected by cancer.
