Rouge is a family business owned by Alana & Phil Mackay, along with Alana’s dad David McCathie. Opened in 2009 in the Empire Street courtyard, the cafe prides itself on fresh food, great coffee and friendly, efficient service. Our offerings include cabinet food, all-day breakfast and seasonal lunch specials, as well as wine, beer, coffee and cold drinks.
A Waipa Networks Business Award for Customer Service this year was a welcome recognition of the excellent service offered by our fantastic team of staff, while our strong local following is testament to the quality we aim for in everything we do. As with most new businesses, our first year or two involved a lot of learning, and the team at Accounted4 have been very supportive.
Benchmarking data has been invaluable in bringing our key fundamentals into line with our industry and keeping our bottom line sustainable. More recently we have moved to Xero and David Faville from accounted4 has been very helpful assisting us with the set-up of this.
