Splitting a couple’s income

Generally, splitting income of a couple is allowed only if you can justify the amount paid to the smaller income earner. If you work for yourself, you'll need to get the Inland Revenue's approval before paying your spouse or partner. This need for approval does not apply to companies. All that is needed is for you to be able to justify the income if IRD asks. The rules for couples who are partners in business are a little more complicated. Extra pay in a tax year

The PAYE system and PAYE tables are worked out based on 52 weeks or 26 fortnights occurring in a tax year. Fonterra - Farmgate Milk Prices

This week it was announced that the current forecast Farmgate Milk Price for the 2014/15 season to $4.40 per kgMS. Along with the previously announced dividend range of 20-30 cents per share, the change amounts to a forecast Cash Payout of $4.60 - $4.70 for a fully shared-up farmer.
